INFINITY – The Untamed Hunger

To be perfectly frank, it has been a long time since I last listened to this highly potent and efficient black metal duo from the Netherlands, which makes very little sense as I was really into their Enter Thy Labyrinth of Hell assault from 2005, but I am thrilled that these guys are back on my musical radar. Why is that? Well, read on, please.

What a treat this epic-sounding, fierce, and melodically strong opus is to immerse oneself in. Thoroughly impressive compositions containing superb arrangements, vicious vocals, and wildly potent riffs are the name of the game here, and the cursed and grim affair is wrapped in an excellent production that balances rawness and unfiltered fury with a sense of sonic clarity and power. The more one listens to its six darkly entrancing tunes, the more rewarding and engrossing they become, and when you combine melodic flair with aggressive determination and a talent for bringing a chilling, nocturnal atmosphere to life, you basically get a satanic audio triumph such as The Untamed Hunger. The lyrics, artwork, and layout are also spot on and leave next to nothing to be desired, and I will be returning to this stunning piece of work again and again in the future. Formidable and haunting black metal performed with skill.
