RESTLESS SPIRITS – Second to None

RESTLESS SPIRITS – Second to None

What an enjoyable and cool surprise this 11-track slab of melodic hard rock is. Lords of Black multi-instrumentalist Tony Hernando is the brain and mastermind behind Restless Spirits, and the musically gifted friends of his that he has called upon to add vocals to these hook-laden and energetic compositions all deliver solid performances throughout. You want names? Try Chez Kane, Johnny Gioeli (Hardline), Kent Hilli (Perfect Plan), and Renan Zonta (Electric Mob). Having that much variety in terms of different vocals and vocal styles and so on truly add some color as well as some interesting nuances to the song material. Tony’s riffs are sharp and memorable, and the production is suitably meaty and bombastic. There is something refreshing, inspired, and even quite uplifting about this little opus, and gems such as ‘Always a Pretender‘, ‘Dreams of the Wild‘, ‘I Need a Lil’ White Lie‘, and ‘Too Many‘ are friggin’ brilliant Good and entertaining stuff although I could have done without the terrible track titled ‘No Time Wasters‘.
