INGLORIOUS – Inglorious II

INGLORIOUS – Inglorious II

"Inglorious II" by the young and hungry hard rock combo named Inglorious from the UK is a mightily impressive and kick-ass throwback to the great(est) rock of the 70s when giants truly walked the earth. Imagine a fiery and potent mix between Deep Purple, early Whitesnake, UFO, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith. That is what Inglorious sounds like. Huge and anthemic choruses, larger-than-life riffs, soulful vocals, thick and groovy bass lines, and a truly vintage vibe are what makes "II" such an awesome listening experience. Despite the fact that these guys were born after Led Zeppelin an Deep Purple and so on released their masterpieces, you can tell that these guys possess a deep-seated love for classic rock and know how to execute it properly. The production by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Aerosmith etc.) is pretty spot-on in terms of capturing an energy and atmosphere while both the songwriting and musicianship is excellent all around. Actually, the vocals by Nathan James sometimes bring to mind David Coverdale due to that bluesy and emotionally charged tone of them, which is obviously a compliment. Great stuff! My favorite cuts are "Taking the Blame", "Making Me Pay", and "No Good for You". Give those a spin and allow yourself to be carried away to a world of superb rock music.

"Inglorious II" is solid nearly all the way through and contains lots of majestic, passionate, and dynamic rock tunes that will make you wet your ugly pants. It does lose a bit of momentum toward the end in that "I Got a Feeling" and "Faraway" contribute very little to the record, but still; you need to invest in this fucker somehow or somewhere once it is released!
