TERRORAZER – Abysmal Hymns of Disgust
Upon looking at the name of this band and the cover of their debut full album, you might be forgiven for thinking these guys have been heavily influenced by seminal grindlords Terrorizer. And, once you start to play the songs, you will realize you have been 100% correct.
O in genre/sound terms this is mostly Terrorizer with a little Impetigo and some Repulsion thrown in. Which is a good or bad thing depending on how you like your grind. I happen to like it with some death in the mix and I particularly like the straightforward approach these guys take – no movie clip intros, no long boring between the track introductions (Impetigo, we are talking about you) and nothing to interfere with the business at hand.
Terrorazor have been around a decade or so putting out demo after demo and contributing to a slew of spilts, but this is their first foray with the callipers off their legs and it all seems to be going according to plan. While it might be a little basic and too close to traditional for some, its lack of circumspection will garner admirers looking for a bit of death grind with no flab. Here it is.
