PRION – Uncertain Process

These Argentinians unfurl a sick, speedy death metal attack on their third full-length album "Uncertain Process". The trio of musicians rip through 10 cuts in a Hate Eternal/ Morbid Angel precise manner – double bass, blast beats, and neck whipping riffs/ leads abound, along with equally caustic and lightning fast word spew from guitarist Gregorio Kochian. Occasional respite occurs in small segments – the beginning notes of the title cut, the doomy chord combinations for 0:49-1:44 of the six minute odyssey "Anhedonist" – but the game plan is usually 100% full on obliteration, carnage sure to appear in the sonic wake.
Might be worth picking up the physical edition, if only for the live DVD of a set from Prion’s home country. Nothing overtly new, but the execution is undeniable – if death metal American style is your thing, "Uncertain Process" fits the category to a tee.
