The best gothic music moves people in a rhythmic, hypnotic, and cerebral fashion. Sure it can be fun and entertaining, but it’s helpful to combine these three elements. Finland’s Velvet Six on their second album "Demons Los Divas" achieve the motherload, combining dance-oriented keyboards, simple but effective drum tempos, killer guitar licks and the Billy Idol-oriented vocals of Olle Wallenius. It’s very hard rocking and melodic, as you’ll find yourself singing the ‘la-la-la-la’ refrains in "Something Evil" as easily as mimicking the keyboard lines for "Underneath".
10 songs and 42 minutes that fans of HIM, Billy Idol, possibly Type O Negative, and even Sentenced should really rock out to- do not be afraid as Velvet Six show there is beauty in the dark recesses of life.
