SPEEDTRAP – Powerdose

8 songs and 29 minutes of raw speed metal insanity- welcome to the chaotic world of Finland’s Speedtrap. "Powerdose" delivers with air guitar promises and relentless bass/ drum syncopation. Jori Sara-aho keeps up with the fast proceedings with a commanding melodic confidence, poised with Scandinavian tradition in his metal lungs. Motorhead, Anvil, and Raven come up often in these cuts- along with a hefty helping of punk and possibly early Bay Area thrash in tracks like "Redemption of Might" and "Ready to Strike". "Out of Time, Out of Line" gives you a mid-tempo, almost AC/DC-like breather before the quartet return to the adrenaline rocket riffs and 1-2 snare/ bass hits that are Speedtrap’s stock in trade.
The best metal isn’t always picture perfect- "Powerdose" reminds us of the wild side, and it is a trip I’d like to take again and again.
