Southern Germany’s Farewell To Arms play a type of metal that’s quite scattershot when it comes to influences. You’ll hear on their debut album "Perceptions" elements of thrash, death, progressive, hardcore and straight metal- often combining all five into the same song!
The barking acid laced metal-core tone from vocalist Dominik Martin severely hinders my appreciation for these 9 songs (plus intro). "Losses to the Crown" contains all the quick hitting twin guitar harmonies and twisted time changes you desire- but the Blink 182 clean chorus is totally unnecessary.
Me thinks Farewell To Arms is for the teenage to early 20’s age segment- not for an older metal head like myself.
