ANDY ROCK – Into The Night

Greek guitarist Andy Rock releases his debut solo album “Into The Night” after spending years with the melodic rock band Wild Rose. Taking on all the instrumentation, vocals and songwriting outside of the drums (Giannis Papavasiliou handles that task), these 11 songs take on characteristics of 80’s AOR like Michael Bolton and Richard Marx- sweet melodies and simple to ingest guitar hooks that make “It’s Not Over”, “Waiting For Your Love”, and “Out On The Streets” impressionable, yet far from exciting.
Andy’s vocals have a whiny nature and struggle to soar, coupled with a lackluster, almost computerized drum performance that sucks the lifeblood out of this material it makes “Into The Night” very rough sailing to these ears. This would have been best left on the demo reels of history.
