ARCHITECTS – The Here and Now

Architects present fairly typical post-hardcore fare: alternated shouted vs melodic, clean vocals, plenty of impact points in the songs where all instruments pound the same note for effect and as much change and unpredictability as can be built into a track.
For those who already like this genre, this is a very solid album. The musicianship is good and Architects clearly know what they are doing. My problem is that I am completely sick of the shouty/clean/shouty vocal approach and the fact that I can think of others who do a similar kind of thing better – From Autumn to Ashes, Rise Against, Alexisonfire or Converge, for example.
If you already know and like these bands, chances are this release will most likely do the job for you. If not, then hold on to your cash for something better.
