Get your bell bottoms on, strap on your Gibson SG and submit to the Devil! “Magister Mundi Xum” is a six song EP from this Norwegian five piece firmly living for the days of Black Sabbath, early Alice Cooper and other doom/ stoner rock acts through the years. Joakim possesses one of those distant, ethereal voices from another world, and while guitarists Stian and Kai keep the riffs moving along adequately through “Spirit Of The Cult” and “Welcome The Devil” – the drumming from Ronny is quite lifeless and severely brings the enjoyment factor down.
As an independent band with a primitive production, Devil have a little ways to go if they want to make a bigger impact on the stoner/doom scene.
