POWERWORLD – Human Parasite

The second album from these German melodic metallers, who gain the strength of English singer Andrew “Mac” McDermott to the fold. Yes, he of Sargant Fury and Threshold vocal notoriety to those who follow progressive and traditional hard rock circles. Overall "Human Parasite" contains a much harder edge due to his presence, especially evident from the opening drum roll salvo on “Cleansed By Fire”, the jumpy guitar spirals through “Stand Up” and the heart pumping “Children Of The Future”.
This album has similar qualities to Pink Cream 69 and Silent Force – attention to distinct melodies, bright keyboard passages that add to the songs and aren’t window dressing plus key diversity in the tempos and song arrangements. One wonders if the follow up will push Powerworld into a new realm of popularity.
