Skyloth is a metal band based in Amsterdam, led by founder Ilya Sapachev. Drawing influences from Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Loathe, and Mastodon, the band blends melodic death metal with post-black, progressive, and metalcore elements. By consciously crossing genre boundaries, Skyloth creates a sound that is both distinctive and emotionally powerful.
Originally formed in Russia, the band later relocated to the Netherlands, where its current international lineup took shape.
The band has released their new album Home on May 1, 2026, written, recorded and mixed entirely by the band. We actively perform at festivals and local venues across Europe (~15 shows per year).
Official video for “Fall of the Empire” can be viewed here:
Skyloth’s music is built around balance: melodic but not pop, heavy but not overly extreme. Their songs explore themes of human nature, the roles of god and devil, moral relativity, and the search for belonging. Atmospheric clean vocals and harmonies are combined with intense, impassioned screams.
The band has released 3 full-length albums and two arthouse music videos. Their live performances express the full spectrum of emotion — from pure aggression to deep melancholy — creating an immersive and cathartic experience.
Lineup:
- Ilya Sapachev (vocals/guitar)
- Matheus Cavalcante (guitar)
- Nof Simsolo (drums)
- Aleksei Berdnik (bass)
