The highly eccentric and eclectic musical ensemble that is Dobbeltgjenger, which hails from Bergen, Norway, is a rather interesting and different musical encounter in all sorts of different ways. This strangely captivating record of theirs entitled "Limbo Head" brings to mind such original and innovative acts as King Crimson, Faith No More, Syd Barrett, Joy Division, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and even some of the experimental stuff that John Lennon was dabbling in back in the glorious 70s.

The music of Dobbeltgjenger constantly shifts and contains so many twists and turns that it borders on the surreal, but the strong focus on writing good albeit less than accessible songs never wavers and remains intact from start to finish. Pieces such as "Radio", "Tin Foil Hat", and "Like Monroe" are utterly dynamic not to mention pretty fucking far out there, but weirdly compelling nonetheless. The tunes are neither easy to absorb nor digest fully and wholly, but luckily the album is only half an hour long, so it never outstays its welcome. In that sense, "Limbo Head" is an intense yet rewarding listening experience that is definitely worth checking out as it is something else entirely and full of vigor and potency. Standout cuts include "Calling Tokyo", "Locking My Doors", and the title track.

Like I said earlier on, this is highly eclectic music that transcends labels and genre conventions, but it is also a highly enjoyable and eerily appealing experience that all of you out there who are into edgy and experimental music ought to check out and immerse yourselves in.
