MEFITIC – Woes of Mortal Devotion

Mefitic hails from Italy and even though they have released several demos and splits since their inception back in 2004, it was their debut full-length "Woes of Mortal Devotion" that really got me interested. Their earlier material is not compareable to this formidable slab of blackened death metal only Portal could do right not many years ago.
Mefitic joins the army of Grave Miasma and likes (and of course the mighty Portal) in creating murky, ugly and just fantastic black/death with so much hatred on top that you just can NOT like it!
From the muddy sound (that actually are quite clear if you listen properly), where the main riffing is muffed in both feedback and reverbs to the gruesome vocal that just kills it on top, Mefitic delivers in my humble opinion one of 2015´s best albums this far (in this genre of course).
Go check out "Woes of Mortal Devotion" if you enjoy your deathmetal really ugly sounding but far from sloppy or primitive.
