DEMON EYE – Tempora Infernalia

North Carolina’s Demon Eye release their second album "Tempora Infernalia" a year and 5 months beyond their debut "Leave the Light". A continuation of their amalgamation of 70’s doom, stoner, and metal platforms, songs like "See the Signs", "End of Days", and swaggering "Black Winds" give you thoughts of Pentagram, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Trouble if taken through a NWOBHM filter. Easy on the brain vocal melodies coupled with addictive riffing and groove combinations give Demon Eye a wide birth of appeal, especially when guitarists Erik Sugg and Larry Burlison team up for the occasional twin harmony passage, even if it’s brief for "Give Up the Ghost".
Ideally the open road would take Demon Eye on a crisscross escapade that will win converts by the thousands. In the meantime, "Tempora Infernalia" crushes in that revered, 70’s bluesy /hypnotic manner – and makes me desire more Demon Eye sooner than later.
