SHARDS OF HUMANITY – Fractured Frequencies

Hailing from the Deep Southern region of the United States in Memphis, Tennessee, Shards of Humanity is currently a three-piece band performing in a death/thrash style on this debut album "Fractured Frequencies". The pinched harmonics and blazing blast beats that occasionally factor in on "Internal Rot" or the title track go hand in hand with straightforward tempos and chunky riffs that are part and parcel of the thrash movement.
There were times on the bee-swarming progressive riff action for "Species Ensnared" that I felt like I was hearing Carcass tangling with latter day Death, while the 7 minute plus closer "Suspension" works in slower grooves, demanding double bass, and this thick thrash/death template that recalls the long lost Invocator. 7 songs in 33 minutes, "Fractured Frequencies" attacks and retreats in all the right spots – and contains soloing for a change that isn’t always shred fest city
Ripe, raw, relentless – Shards of Humanity are on the right path to seep into the minds and hearts of classic death/thrash fans.
