CARCASS – Surgical Steel

Finally, after a much to long wait Carcass is finally back with some METAL.
The name Carcass should not need any introduction to anyone frequently checking out Eternal-Terrror. They are (where) the true grind gods and a personal favorite of mine from way back whom still get plenty of running time on my sterio.
"Surgical Steel" has since the rumours started circulating had some very high expectations and holy s**t does it live up to them.
This is the Carcass we all know and love from their prime (that is between "Symphonies" and up to "Heartwork"). This is the true death/goregrind that they where a major part of inventing back in the early 90´s.
The arrangements wich was their trademark are back and the riffing are just as complex/intricate as they where some 20 years ago. The tempo ranges from mid-paced to frantic and all the instruments are perfectly clear in the mix (the Carcass sound is as we remember it are coined perfectly)
It warms my heart to get that nostalic feeling when playing "Surgical Steel".
Just like "Necroticism", the album is a grower. It just gets better and better but it does not match "Necroticism". That album is just perfect, end of discussion.
Walker´s vocal is just perfect (again, for the nostalic) and new drummer Wilding does a marvelous job behind the kit. I really like that he plays the way Owen did and to be honest that´s the way it should be.
The world has been waiting for some old Carcas and that is excactly what we get.
"Surgical Steel" is the ultimate comeback album and a true contendor for the "Album of the year" award.
Just listen to it, nuff said.
