SAVIOR FROM ANGER – Age Of Decadence

An Italian power/thrash metal band here with elements of the 80’s sound on this second album release "Age Of Decadence". Some of the vocals mirror the rhythms, and a lot of the stop/start parts don’t work- but substance is present in terms of the tight riffing and high octane melodies. Often guitarist Marco Ruggiero as the vocalist runs the spectrum from Geoff Tate meets Ski (Deadly Blessing)/ Rob Halford low to high note action- and the soloing is very harmonic and melody based, so it’s not all super speed shred like a lot of power/thrash acts are prone to do.
For my first exposure to Savior From Anger, it’s not that bad. Acts like Annihilator, Forbidden, and early Overkill come to mind- and if you can handle the primitive production values and tones, "Age of Decadence" could easily be a record to thrash your world.
