SYN:DROM – Iconoclasm

The non-stop blasting death machine known as Syn:Drom returns for another full length engagement. "Iconoclasm" contains a healthy dose of blast beats, outer limit screams, and riffs that are speedy, semi-technical and non-compromising. I love the computerized robotic vocals that add a slower, semi-industrial/ doom feel to "Iconoclastic View" and the wild, spiraling lead break during "Solitude Breeds Death"- these elements break up the wall of speed death that assaults your ear drums from beginning to middle to end for the 10 songs on this second record.
By the time the shifting closer "Imposing as Gods Amongst Men" concludes, Syn:Drom take any negative impulse out of your body, having beaten your totality into oblivion. Jonny Pettersson roars with the intensity of Nile meets Napalm Death- and the four musicians who accompany his words do not mince any movement, measure, or trick in the book when it comes to sick riffs, rhythms, and tempos.
Straightforward death leaves you breathless- "Iconoclasm" is the next logical step in the Syn:Drom discography, and I’m curious to hear what the third platter will offer down the line.
