T.I.R. – Heavy Metal

31 years after forming we get the pleasure of hearing an 11 song debut album from Italian traditional metal act T.I.R. Should it really be surprising then that songs like “Dark Rebel”, “Shout”, and “Metal In My Life” live for the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, bringing to mind Iron Maiden, Saxon, Tygers Of Pan Tang and Judas Priest through their high pitched vocals, rampant guitar energy, and general blue collar work ethic. Break out your studded leather, thousands of band back patches and fire up the speakers to crank this classic oriented group, who also offer up a mix of material in English and Italian languages.
“Heavy Metal” may be cliché in its approach, over the top instrumental breaks or heavily accented vocals, but T.I.R. aren’t out to do anything more than provide a party mood atmosphere- and this album is a success in that regard.
