STRANGEWAYS – Age of Reason

Setting their own sights on their self-released label, the eighth studio album from the UK’s Strangeways is one of those breezy, melodic AOR fares with Terry Brock’s large, comfortable voice helming the band again. Songs like “Run”, the Don Henley-like “End Of The Day” and highway ready “Frozen” showcase a group hard to specifically pin down in a particular category, as they really run the gamut of 30 plus years in AOR and melodic rock.
Last year’s “Perfect World” seemed a little too laid back for Strangeways as they got to know each other once again for a comeback record- “Age Of Reason” sees the band firing away with better hooks, melodies and overall stronger arrangements.
