WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM – Celestial Lineage

I think atmosphere is the essential word. As in, this is atmospheric doom black metal and you probably need to be in a certain state of mind to really get something from the music. I mean, the music is flowing and comfortable, but there’s not that much that happens. When they go acoustic, you know it’ll stay as such for a couple of minutes. And take the 5.26 minutes "Woodland Cathedral"… 5.26 minutes of more or less exactly the same…

But if you’re in the mood for music that slowly develops and most likely will grow on you, "Celestial Lineage" is definitely an album for you. The sound is good, the atmosphere is melancholic and deep. Let Wolves In The Throne Room enchant you.

I think though, that this album would’ve benefitted by having clean vocals instead of black metal scream that really do not fit all the time.
