The SOULFLY tribe is on the warpath and chief Max Cavalera is leading his tribe into battle once again! Whereas last year he conquered the Dessel plains with the Cavalera Conspiracy, this year he's on tour with Soulfly in support of their last album, ‘Conquer'. Soulfy will perform on Friday 26 June.

On Saturday 27 June, GMM2009 is one of the stops on KORN's ‘Escape From The Studio' tour. The American nu-metal band is currently recording its ninth studio album and according to Fieldy, the new CD harks back to the band's heavy roots. The new album, as yet unnamed, is set for an early 2010 release but the band might just be tempted to try out a couple of new songs on GMM2009!

Symphonic heavy metallers NIGHTWISH are scheduled for Sunday 28 June. This is definitely a band to look forward to because the Fins are making their official GMM debut. Founded ten years ago, the band's most successful albums to date are ‘Oceanborn', ‘Wishmaster' and ‘Once'. Their latest album ‘Dark Passion Play' was also well-received.

In February, CHILDREN OF BODOM ruled during their ‘Blood Drunks Crawling up Your EU' tour and the Finnish metal storm will be hitting GMM next. It's looking like closing night on GMM2009 will be Bodom Night!

Amidst all the young metal violence, Graspop Metal Meeting obviously hasn't forgotten the real classics such as the American hard rock band JOURNEY. In the seventies, Journey became one of the most successful bands in American rock history. Guitarist and frontman Neal Schon had already earned his spurs playing with Santana whereas Aynsley Dubar manned the drum kit for Frank Zappa. The band have been quiet for a while, but on Saturday 27 June they will be making their first appearance on Graspop Metal Meeting!

Stoner rock pioneers MONSTER MAGNET are also scheduled for 27 June. When frontman Dave Wyndorf overdosed in 2007, his prolonged inactivity seemed to signal the end of the band. Shortly after, however, Monster Magnet released their seventh album ‘4 Way Diablo' and the band has come back stronger than ever.

These 17 new names have raised our total to 59 bands! Meanwhile, we're still hard at work trying to fill the last few slots for our 2009 edition. Just to refresh your memory, here are the names of all 59 bands again:
