Recorded three years after their debut album, Through The Night, the new record marks a shift in perspective. Where the band’s early work leaned toward escapism and open-road optimism, the new material turns its attention toward the pressures and frustrations of modern life, while refusing to settle into cynicism. “This album is influenced by honesty in hopeful optimism,” says frontman Mikey Ball. “It acknowledges the frustrations of modern life without allowing them to define the story.” That balance runs through the record’s writing, with songs exploring uncertainty, routine and the noise of contemporary living, while repeatedly returning to themes of resilience, connection and perspective.
Musically, the band sound more expansive and assured than ever, taking influence from Tom Petty, Thin Lizzy and Bruce Springsteen. Strong guitar interplay, melodic focus and a performance-first approach define the record, which captures the energy and immediacy of their live shows.
Over the past few years, MIKEY BALL & THE COMPANY have built their reputation on the road, sharing stages with acts including These Wicked Rivers, Hot One Two, Hearts & Hand Grenades and many more. The band have performed at a host of festivals, including Call of the Wild, HRH Great Yarmouth, Station 18, Love Rocks and Crazy Cowboy, with further shows confirmed including Nozfest and additional dates to be announced.
