LAUGHING STOCK – FORGOTTEN DREAMS – out via Apollon Records on August 28th

When writing songs for the album that became ‘Life in Seven Dreams’, Laughing
Stock had a lot of songs to choose from. Four of these songs are now released as
the EP ‘Forgotten Dreams’. The band think those songs are as strong as anything
they have released before, but as they didn’t fit in on the last album, they certainly
wouldn’t fit in on the next. These four songs are very different in style, but makes for
a cohesive and adventurous listen.

The band has chosen to release ‘The Story’ as the lead single from the EP. A short
and catchy song, that in some places resembles bands like Gentle Giant, but also
contains a pop rock chorus.

The songs were written and produced by Jan Mikael Sørensen, in collaboration with
the band, and mastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo.

   

LIFE IN SEVEN DREAMS

‘Life in seven dreams’ is the seventh album in seven years from Laughing Stock from Tønsberg ( Norway). . It contains seven new songs that fit together as a suite of dreams. The production of
the album has been long and difficult for all members of the band (Jan Erik Kirkevold
Nilsen, Håvard Enge and Jan Mikael Sørensen), because of personal struggles. It’s
been a tormenting year, and the final album is manifest to that. Some bits are
beautiful, and some bits are dark and violent or somewhere in between.
The songs are bound together by a recitation of the poem ‘A dream within a dream’
by Edgar Allan Poe. We were very happy when Colin Bass of Camel agreed to do the
recitation.

The album is as usual produced and mixed by Jan Mikael Sørensen and mastered by Jacob Holm-
