Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
Fire the Humans is a solo project based out of the St. Louis, Missouri area of the United States. It’s a solo project that began in late 2020 and releasing the new single ‘Burned Alive’ on 2/13/26
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
Cutting through all of the nonsense that’s out there on music platforms. Great way to discover great new artists, but wow… There’s a lot of garbage too.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
I’ve always been a published singer/songwriter and fronted projects throughout my career, but when Covid happened in 2020, I was able to settle down and focus on building out the sound I truly love. More vocally and melodically driven music vs instruments and ‘band’ projects. Releasing my first solo project single ‘Vanish’ in 2021 felt right.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
‘Burned Alive’ is the new single that drops on 2/13/26 and is a different approach to my other singles. Sexy, sultry and almost romantic. A song you would listen to at 1am after some cocktails and connect with someone after some eye contact.
How does a song typically come together for you?
Everything begins and ends with the melody. If I can’t get a melody out of my head, I know there’s something to it. I then typically start to write lyrics to it and pull from a personal experience, a situation, a comment or an observation.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
If Prince, Rival Sons and The Neighborhood had a baby…. Fire the Humans would be their name.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
Authenticity. Fire the Humans is genuine and honest, it’s not a ‘cookie-cutter’ project that is out to make someone rich and famous. Far from it. When listening, it’s real.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
Japan, UK and Sweden all seem like incredible places to play. I’m excited for Fire the Humans to grow and play there soon enough.
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
Great question… it’s definitely developed into a more honest sound that’s less about the instruments and ‘band’ feel and more about the melody, hooks and atmospheric feel.
How excited are you for 2026, and what can fans expect from you?
‘Burned Alive’ is the new single that drops on 2/13/26 and is something I’m really proud of. Sexy, sultry and personal song that everyone can connect with. It’s a song you hear at 1am and make eye contact with, hoping to say more too.
