Berlin’s indie collective THE MORNING STARS (Kreidler / Barbara Morgenstern / Sport / Kante) release their final single and video “One Of The Doors” — Out Today!
“One of the Doors” is the opening track of The Morning Stars’ debut album “A Hymn Without a Sound”. It’s a rousing song, swaying back and forth between a minimal stop-and-go-funk reminding of Talking Heads and floating, dream-like indie pop à la Beach House or Slowdive. Above surprising harmony shifts, the polyphonic voices sing of decisions and developments, the winding paths people are taking in their lives.
Formed almost by accident — or rather, as a birthday gift — the band brings together a dream lineup of some of Germany’s most beloved indie musicians: Barbara Morgenstern, Alex Paulick (Kreidler, Coloma), Sebastian Vogel (Kante, Britta), and Felix Müller-Wrobel(Kante, Sport). What began as a surprise for a friend became something much bigger: a sonic collaboration steeped in shared history, playful chemistry, and deep musical trust.
The upcoming album, A Hymn Without a Sound, captures the magic of four musicians rediscovering the joy of making music together. Recorded in Berlin’s LowSwing Studio with Guy Sternberg, and later mixed and mastered by Alex Paulick and Norman Nitzsche, the record moves fluidly between fragile atmospheres and driving post-rock climaxes. From the intimate pulse of “Like This” to the kinetic grooves of “Trap” and the luminous finale “The Everything,” A Hymn Without a Sound glows with timeless warmth and quiet brilliance.
