VENICE REVIVE – interview

VENICE REVIVE – interview

Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
– Hello! We’re Venice Revive, we do symphonic metalcore and we’ve just released our debut album! My name’s Omer, I’m the songwriter and the album talks about how I dealt with the loss of my dad. It’s an emotional journey that I really hope people could connect with & I can help them deal with loss.

What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
– The fact that talent isn’t enough to get you noticed!

When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
– I was writing riffs at home for myself and thought to myself “Hey this is pretty good” & did what I could to evolve them into full songs. I believe that reaching the top of the national rock chart with only our second single is what gave us the motivation we needed.

Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
– The first songs serve as a prelude & prolouge and the 5 songs in the middle represent the 5 stages of grief. I highly recommend listening from start to finish to fully embrace it. The album also has both modern and old-school metalcore, I personally really love the mix and hope others can enjoy it too!

How does a song typically come together for you?
– It starts with riffs that come to my head at 3am when I’m trying to sleep that make me rush to the computer as quickly as possible, I try to keep writing as much as possible through song writing skills that came with experience, but sometimes I have to wait for another 3am eureka moment.
When it comes to lyrics, just thinking about life usually does that for me. Life sucks.
I start writing the cringest lyrics possible until I have a full structure, then I try to make it sound more mature & deep with analogies, check out the lyrics for “Future Paradise” for example, we’re really proud of that one.

How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
– A mix of old-school and modern metalcore, with a very heavy use of orchestral instruments and their melodies.

What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
– The songs that stay in my playlists forever are songs I could connect with, through lyrics and the instruments. I really hope I can give the listeners the same feelings I got when writing my songs.

Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
– Anywhere in the world our fans are. Geographical location around the glove doesn’t matter, we’re there for the fans.

How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
– That’s currently one of the main talking points within the band, the first album got too many reviews saying it’s sounding old-school, so we really try to learn as much as possible about modern sound in hopes to create something great in our second album.

How excited are you for 2026, and what can fans expect from you?
– There is a very emotional cover of a very emotional cover coming soon! The recording of the instruments of our second album is also complete, no reason it shouldn’t release before the end of 2026!
