Since the release of The Continuum Synergy in early 2023, Norway based Håvard Lunde has spent the last two and a half years writing and recording the fourth album for his progressive MOONSCAPE project, which will be released NOVEMBER 21st 2025. A list of guest performers also appear on the album, as listed below.
The new album Entity, Chapter III: A Sudden Glimpse of Clarity consists of one single 42 minute composition, divided into 14 parts, and will be available on digital format and a strictly limited jewelcase CD edition (200 copies) via moonscape.bandcamp.com.
It is inspired by bands like Ayreon, Edge of Sanity/Dan Swanö, Transatlantic, Yes etc
The album is written, composed, arranged, recorded, mixed and produced by HÅVARD LUNDE at HLP Sound Studio, Norway. Mastered by SHAUN RAYMENT at SDR Audio Production, England.
Additional vocal production by LEVIATHAN at Leviathan’s Den, Sweden.
CONCEPT/STORY:
The album continues the concept that started with MOONSCAPE’s debut Entity (2017) which in general is a story about a protagonist, simply called Man, who withdraws from the world and finds solace in isolating himself. Eventually, after keeping to himself for far too long, depression (the Demon character) starts breaking him down, and he finds himself fighting his way back to life.
The follow up, Entity, Chapter II: Echoes from a Cognitive Dystopia (2020) continued where “Entity” left off, but from a more personal perspective. Although it is not supposed to be an entirely biographical concept, it does feature certain moments and events that are more personal than others, such as the loss of his father, which is the main focus on the first half of the Chapter II.
Although he didn’t plan on creating a third chapter, Lunde felt he wanted to end the story on a “brighter note”. Entity, Chapter III: A Sudden Glimpse of Clarity tells about the protagonist having failed his attempt to once again face the world around him, and he has fallen back into the grip of his Demon. Although not the voice that speaks the loudest, the voice of Reason is telling him to break down the walls that are keeping him isolated, and in a sudden glimpse of clarity he finally realizes that he doesn’t want to live like this anymore. He defies his demon and finally finds Hope, who has led a similar life to that of the protagonist, with loneliness, grief and a yearning for love. She considers the protagonist the light that she needed in her life, and she wants to be the guiding light that he also needs in his life. She stands by him through his ordeals and eventually leads him along the path to a happy life, at last.
