Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
We’re Non Talkers, a Portuguese–Belgian pop-folk duo formed by Marco and Evita Brantner. Our latest single, Weight of Doubt, is a song about the inner struggle that comes with uncertainty and fear, and the strength that comes from facing those emotions instead of avoiding them. It’s both intimate and cinematic, showing a new side of who we are as artists.
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
We’re Non Talkers, a Portuguese–Belgian pop-folk duo formed by Marco and Evita Brantner. Our latest single, Weight of Doubt, is a song about the inner struggle that comes with uncertainty and fear, and the strength that comes from facing those emotions instead of avoiding them. It’s both intimate and cinematic, showing a new side of who we are as artists.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
It happened when we started receiving heartfelt messages from people who connected deeply with our songs. Realizing that something we wrote in a small room could reach and move someone miles away made us see that Non Talkers could truly become something meaningful.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
Weight of Doubt is a song about vulnerability and resilience. It captures that feeling of standing at the edge of fear and deciding to move forward anyway. It’s honest, emotional, and one of our most powerful releases so far, both musically and lyrically.
How does a song typically come together for you?
It usually starts from a feeling or a small idea. Marco often begins writing on guitar or piano, and then Evita joins in to develop harmonies and vocal lines. From there, we shape the arrangement together until it feels right. Every song has its own rhythm and journey.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Our sound blends the warmth of folk, the energy of pop, and the depth of indie music. It’s emotional, melodic, and cinematic, built around vocal harmonies and honest storytelling.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
We want people to feel seen and understood. Our songs talk about real emotions, the kind that everyone experiences at some point in life. If someone listens and feels less alone, that means everything to us.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
We’d love to tour in the UK, Ireland, and the United States. These are the countries where most of our musical influences come from, and we’ve never had the chance to perform there yet. It would be incredible to bring our music to the places that shaped so much of our sound.
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
We’ve become more confident and intentional with our sound. In the beginning, we were still searching for our identity. Now we know exactly what we want to express and how we want people to feel when they listen.
How excited are you for 2025, and what can fans expect from you?
We’re very excited! 2025 is all about our Weight of Doubt tour, which has already started in Portugal with an amazing audience response. We’re also recording new songs that will be released gradually throughout the year, leading up to a European tour in 2026.
