Century Media Records and InsideOutMusic are pleased to announce the first half of the “Third Chapter” of the comprehensive catalogue re-issue campaign for legendary and groundbreaking Death Metallers EDGE OF SANITY as well as versatile Prog/Hardrock outfit NIGHTINGALE, who were both fronted by Swedish vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and acclaimed metal producer Dan Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Dissection, etc.).

This ultimate edition 2CD includes the original “Crimson” as it was released in 1996, plus a careful remix of “Crimson” by songwriter/frontman/producer Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Incantation). Each of the 8 movements – originally one track – showcase EDGE OF SANITY firing on all cylinders, supported by guest star Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth). After 30 years, NIGHTINGALE’s celebrated first full-length, “The Breathing Shadow”, is available again – on CD and for the first time ever on LP – in re-mastered shape by songwriter/frontman/producer Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, Opeth, Katatonia, etc.). Originally released only on CD in 1995, “The Breathing Shadow” showcased Swanö’s newfound penchant for gothic-tinged hard rock, loosely based off the success of Edge of Sanity’s “Sacrificed”, a track that cemented Swanö as metaldom’s master of genres. Featuring stand-outs “Nightfall Overture”, “Gypsy Eyes”, “Alone?” and “The Dreamreader”, plus 13 bonus tracks for the 2CD format (Including remixes, live tracks and demo versions), the album is singular in NIGHTINGALE’s impressive repertoire. The 30th Anniversary re-release of “The Breathing Shadow” is available as a Ltd. Digipak 2CD (10 + 13 bonus tracks) with O-card and as a 180g LP (10 tracks).
