KINGSFOIL – interview

Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:

We are Kingsfoil. Formed in 2020, we finally got to release our music to the world this year in 2024. We’ve released 3 singles with music videos and our EP, “In The Hands Of The King”, with a further 4th track on it, released on 8th November 2024.

What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?

Being seen and heard. Social media has made everybody a creator. Not just Creators, either. So having your music and videos listened to and watched has never been harder to stand out. We’ve always tried, with that in mind, to incorporate something a little different in our music videos with costumes and pop culture references (LARP, fantasy, sci fi, retro, punk, mystery, suspense etc.)

When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?

The moment we put the songs together in the practice rooms. They just came to life. We very quickly realised we had something we all wanted to listen to.

Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?

“In The Hands Of The King” – it’s our debut EP, it’s fresh off the press, and ready to spin.

How does a song typically come together for you?

I am the main songwriter, and I tend to bring songs to the band in acoustic format. Our guitarist Mikey is a great songwriter himself, so tends to embellish, Ant adds the groove, and Sully gives it a pulse, bringing it to life like Frankenstein’s monster.

How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
We’re Alt Rock fused with classic rock energy and a groovy, soulful finish.

What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?

How much fun they could have at our shows. Catchy hooks, anthemic chorus to sing along to and groovy rhythms to shake your butt to. What more could you ask for? Get down to a show!

Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?

I’d love to take our sound up North or even to Europe. I think our sound would be really appreciated.

How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?

We’re still always growing, but we’ve definitely developed a more classic rock edge in the past couple of years.

How excited are you for 2025, and what can fans expect from you?

We already have shows flying in, and we can’t wait to bring our sound to new audiences. Hopefully we’ll continue to go from strength to strength.
