Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:

We’re EXXASENS, an instrumental post-rock/post-metal band based in Barcelona. Our music is deeply atmospheric, blending intense guitar-driven soundscapes with cinematic elements that transport listeners. Our latest release, titled INFINITUM, is set to launch on November 8th. This album is a culmination of everything we’ve experienced and learned over the years. It’s our most dynamic and mature work yet, with each track taking listeners on an emotional journey through powerful riffs, ambient textures, and intricate melodies.

What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?

One of the biggest challenges today is standing out in a saturated music landscape where listeners have endless options. With so much music available at their fingertips, it’s tough to reach new audiences and keep them engaged. Social media helps, but it can also be overwhelming to keep up with constant content demands. Balancing the creative process with the need for visibility is a unique challenge, but it’s one we tackle because we love sharing our music with the world.

When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?

The turning point was when we started getting attention from festivals and international fans. Playing live shows and seeing how people from different cultures connected with our music made us realize that EXXASENS could go beyond just a personal project. When people from other countries started reaching out and sharing how our music resonated with them, we knew we had something special.

Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?

Our upcoming album, INFINITUM, really captures the heart of what EXXASENS is about. It’s an emotional, immersive experience that speaks without words. We’ve poured our souls into this record, and it reflects both our personal growth and our vision as musicians. Each track builds its own universe, and the album as a whole invites listeners to take a journey, feel, and interpret the music in their own way. We’re incredibly proud of it, and we think fans of atmospheric, instrumental music will find something meaningful here.

How does a song typically come together for you?

Our songs usually start with an emotion or concept. We’re inspired by everything from space, old films and science fiction to personal introspection. One of us might come up with a riff or melody, and from there, we build around it, layering textures and rhythms until the song starts to take shape. Since we’re instrumental, we focus heavily on creating a narrative through the music itself, letting the melodies and dynamics tell a story.

How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?

EXXASENS’ sound is a blend of post-rock and post-metal, with cinematic and space-inspired elements. Imagine soaring guitars, driving basslines, and ambient textures that create vast, expansive soundscapes. Our music has an emotional intensity to it that builds and evolves, taking listeners on a journey. If you enjoy music that feels like a soundtrack to an epic story, you’ll likely connect with our sound.

What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?

We want listeners to feel something deeply personal when they hear our music. Since we’re an instrumental band, we aim to create an emotional experience that lets each person interpret the music in their own way. Whether it’s a feeling of escape, nostalgia, or introspection, we hope our music provides a moment where listeners can connect with their own thoughts and emotions. We want the experience to feel cinematic and transformative, almost like a soundtrack to the listener’s life.

Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?

We’d love to tour in Asia, especially China and Japan. We have a strong fan base there, and we feel that audiences in these regions have a deep appreciation for instrumental and atmospheric music. The energy and enthusiasm we’ve seen from fans online makes us excited about the possibility of connecting with them in person. Touring in Asia would be a dream come true!

How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?

Our sound has evolved to become more refined and cohesive. Early on, we experimented with a lot of different ideas and sounds, but over time we’ve developed a clearer vision. Our compositions have grown in depth and complexity, and we’re more intentional about crafting each track to tell a story. We’ve embraced heavier post-metal elements while maintaining our atmospheric roots, which has given our music a more powerful emotional punch.

How excited are you for 2025, and what can fans expect from you?

We’re incredibly excited for 2025! With our new album release, we’re looking forward to sharing this fresh material with our fans. We’re also thrilled that some of our music will be featured in an Amazon series premiering next year, which is a huge step for us in reaching new audiences. We’re hoping to return to live shows and tour in new places, bringing our music to fans face-to-face once again. Fans can expect more releases, visuals, and hopefully some unforgettable live experiences. 2025 is going to be a big year for EXXASENS!
