STARFORCE – Age of Nano

Thanks to the good people over at Darkhan Music we can now look forward to a glorious vinyl edition of the deftly executed Age of Nano by the gifted Finnish entity known as Starforce, and what could possibly be cooler than that?

Stylistically speaking, we are talking synthwave of the highest order, drenched in an appealing 80s sheen and atmosphere that recalls the best of what the genre has to offer. Hypnotic, mesmerizing, and elegantly composed, these eight compositions (three of which are bonus tracks) possess a fantastic drive, and the record flows incredibly well from start to finish and is as cohesive as they come. With its many interesting layers and textures not to mention warm, analogue-sounding production, Age of Nano is an entrancing musical affair that perfectly balances the act of having a gutsy impact while also being able to seamlessly carry a lightweight and airy feel. Its strong melodic motifs and prominent pulses are just to die for, and memorable is undoubtedly the key word throughout. Fans of John Carpenter, Pertubator, and The Midnight seriously ought to check this mind-blowing gem out.
