CRAZY LIXX – Two Shots at Glory

Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx are consistently good and never cease to impress me with their high-octane, glam metal-fueled brand of loud, anthemic music. Well-played, tight as fuck, and relentlessly entertaining sum things up rather nicely, I think, and those attributes and characteristics also apply to Two Shots at Glory. The record is both familiar and new in that it is a compilation containing reimagined versions of various hits, classics, and barnstormers from their past works, which basically means that this insanely energetic, wildly infectious, and tasty collection serves as a commemorative package while also offering something different and exclusive. The rendition of ‘Sympathy’ is one of the most phenomenal tunes I have heard so far this year and ‘Ain’t No Rest in Rock n’ Roll’ is a real corker too. In fact, there are no weak or unimpressive cuts to be found on the disc and everything sounds massive.  

In short, their past material has been re-arranged, re-mixed, and partially re-recorded but it all sounds absolutely killer. Fuck yeah, I am loving this one and that includes the album cover as well.
