MORBID SACRIFICE – Ceremonial Blood Worship

What we have here is filthy and rotten death metal from Italy courtesy of the ugly quartet known as Morbid Sacrifice, and this short and pulverizing record of theirs is undoubtedly one of the catchiest outputs that I have come across lately. Efficiency is clearly something that these guys are big on, and they make every single riff count and slice like a goddamn hammer. On top of that, the rhythm section is a rumbling entity that truly deserves praise for lending the album such a powerful quality. What I seriously cherish about this affair is its impressive groove and consistently solid drive, and when things are as instantly memorable as they are here and immediately get under your skin then there is no other option but to surrender to its threatening aura. None of its eight pulverizing tracks offer any twists or surprises as such but do let that fool you into thinking that it is not comprised of some seriously evil material that will keep you engaged and entertained from beginning to end.

I feel seriously unclean after having listened to this fucker, and that is obviously a compliment when it comes to old-school death metal of the most forbidding and forceful sort. Every fan of eerie extreme underground metal should add this one to their list of releases to check out.
