LYNCH MOB – Babylon

Renowned hard rockers Lynch Mob are responsible for some utterly cool and well-written records but their line-up has always appeared somewhat fluid and unstable, which is not necessarily a bad thing per say, but Babylon is the first time in a while that the band has gelled to such an extent as they do here, and I am overwhelmed by how confident, inspired, and absorbing this offering is. Everyone is at the top of their game, the stellar production job lends weight and crunch to the material, and the whole damn record shows pleasing melodic pedigree and plenty of heft. In many ways, this is an alluring rock album that contains and gradually reveals subtle depths, and I am floored by how perfectly captivating ‘Million Miles Away’, ‘How U Fall’, ‘Caught Up’, and especially ‘Time After Time’ are. In short, Babylon is a grand musical delight and my personal favorite by Lynch Mob so far. Classy and professional through and through.
