MAGNA CORPOREA – Bliss of Non-Temporal Condition

This debut album by the mysterious Argentinian entity known as Magna Corporea is a most impressive and well-composed piece of underground darkness that is borderline spellbinding at times due to its strong riffs and excellent vocals, and I must say that I find it all rather alluring.

Hypnotic is definitely one word that comes to mind when spinning the disc, and the cold vibe that permeates its six seductive tracks is a thing of pitch-black splendor and beauty. Did I mention that it is memorable? Not only that but the musicianship is top notch also, and there is a decent amount of variety to the proceedings – all of which makes for a riveting listen. I would have liked a slightly more powerful mastering and perhaps even a bit more brightness to the actual mix itself, but the bottom line is that this is some seriously haunting black metal that is performed with style, conviction, and soul, and there is an emotional depth and intensity to it that appeals to me greatly.
