ANGELICA – All I Am

ANGELICA – All I Am

Angelica’s new record entitled "All I Am" offers melodic rock/AOR with a modern sheen to it and it comes across as a fresh and current-sounding affair in many ways, but frankly, it is also quite predictable and unexciting. Its main problem is that it is rather generic and somewhat derivative with respect to its melodies and ideas, and apart from the songs "Addicted to You" and "Don’t Say Goodbye", nothing really sticks or stands out as such, which is frustrating after having listened to the 11-track output numerous times.

There is nothing wrong with the musicianship or Angelica’s abilities as a vocalist, but the whole thing is just too damn uneventful and it truly sounds and feels as if they are playing it safe all the way through. This is slick, radio-friendly melodic rock with a commercial edge to it and plenty of saccharine lyrics, and that is not necessarily a bad thing per say, but sadly, "All I Am" is unremarkable and lacks substance and staying power.
