Italian prog (power) metallers DGM are back and if you are on the lookout for a vigorous and energetic output then make sure you grab a copy of this new life-affirming and fabulous creation of theirs. This thing is crisp and clear-sounding but packs plenty of punch, and there is an incredible flow to its epic compositions. Soaring vocals, muscular riffs, and insanely beautiful melodies are woven together with the utmost skill and its ten tracks are overflowing with atmosphere. It sounds thick and heavy but also like a true labor of love, and there is absolutely no shortage of passion to be detected here.
In fact, the album contains no weak or uninspired tracks as such and the whole affair oozes class, sophistication, and professionalism. ”Tragic Separation” is cleverly written and elegantly arranged but never unnecessarily complex or annoyingly dense, and what we have here may well be the band’s best and most musically rewarding record in ages. Powerful and beautiful prog metal that is all-around thrilling…and cool as fuck! Should you need a teaser then consider giving the dazzling song ”Stranded” a spin but make sure you check the ferocious “Turn Back Time” out too.
