It’s nice to take in an Italian melodic hard rock band that plays in that 80’s manner with an upbeat, infectious hook-oriented sound as Bad Bones display on their fourth studio album "Demolition Derby". Vocalist Max Bone possesses that arena ready voice, very AOR-ish on the peppy "Endless Road" and AC/DC-like "A Perfect Alibi". Most of the eleven tracks stay in a tight, focused zone – although the quartet stretch their ballad chops on the six-minute arrangement "Rambling Heart" which gets a little bluesy due to some slide guitar antics.
Plenty of people who like Gotthard will dig "Demolition Derby", proof once again that melodic hard rock is never going to die.
