PARIA – Knochenkamp

German black metallers Paria have been around for over 15 years now, popping up here and there with an LP or EP, never really seeming driven to be the most productive and busy kids and on the block. Their sound owes a lot to orthodox BM but they always seem to find a riff here or some trick there to make things sound slightly different and interesting. The latest EP Knochenkamp is no exception.
An added bonus, though one that might take listeners a few moments to realise is the addition of a cover version of Bathory’s classic Call from the Grave. Overall then, Knochenkamp is a worthy if slightly underwhelming addition to the Paria catalogue that fans of the band will enjoy. Newbies might be better starting their journey 2013 full length Surrealist Satanist though.
