DECOMPOSED – Wither

A one-man death project for Jesper Ekstål, Swedish band Decomposed on the third album "Wither" punish the aural landscape with 9 songs of old school death antics. Those who love early Carnage/ Entombed, Dismember, and a bit of atmosphere in terms of some of the clean guitar elements will dig "Void", the brutal opener "By Nothingness Crowned" and the blast-beat frenzied "Drenched in Wounds". The title track at 9:43 gives the listener more of a brooding, epic side to Jesper’s songwriting, shifting between stacks of trill-oriented down-tuned riffs, haunting keyboard elements, as well as killer mid-tempo death parts that churn like waves ready to tumble over the shore.
You know what you are going to get here in "Wither" – a fitting record of early 90’s-oriented Swedish death brought to life again in 2016. And there’s still plenty of people willing to lap this up.
