ANEWRAGE – ANR (re-issue)

Alternative metal with a boatload of attitude and groove- welcome to Milan, Italy’s Anewrage. "ANR" is a reissue of their debut album from 2014, originally appearing on Sliptrick Records. Besides the 12 original songs, you get a bonus track "Nina" and an acoustic rendition of "Red Wet Lips". The material fuses together a strong twin guitar foundation, melodies that are radio friendly, plus a boatload of rhythm section bounciness that recalls everything from System of a Down to Trapt, while traversing alternative, post-grunge, and heavy rock lines.
Those who love Americanized hooks plus European finesse will dig "Butterflies" and "No More" the most – Anewrage isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel in terms of output or execution, but they are sure to move people out of their seats, and that’s the whole point to heavy music, isn’t it? Curious to see where the follow up will take the band.
