A LIFE DIVIDED – Human
German electro/ gothic oriented commercial metal here with A Life Divided, something that falls in between a commercial Static X and Nine Inch Nails along with heavier Devin Townsend or Depeche Mode elements on this 13 song record "Human". Darker keyboards and simpler tempos allow JP’s serene/ alternative singing to capture your mind and soothe the soul, especially on catchy numbers like "The Most Beautiful Black" and peppy "Own Mistake". Using technology the right way paints alternate contrasts, sometimes uplifting keyboards against aggressive guitar riffs, making "Drive" one of the highlights for the second half of the album, the title word repetitive and hypnotic.
Not something that would be a regular playlist contender, but entertaining enough when people want to blow off steam and be energized, A Life Divided performs in this eclectic style more than adequately.
