IMPALERS – Prepare for War EP – re-issue

A Danish thrash band that have two current releases on the market – Crime Records will issue their second full-length album "God from the Machine", while Evil Eye Records felt their independent 4 song EP "Prepare for War" needed a second chance to be heard. At 4 songs and 14 minutes, you’ll get two originals with the title cut and "Destination: Warfare" while they also tackle material from Sodom and Motörhead.

Very much straddling the Bay Area and Teutonic thrash movements, it’s not surprising that the band can perform in a steady mid-tempo mold, very crunchy and thick on the power, as the vocals are acidic and forceful. Choosing "Napalm in the Morning" and "The Hammer" are not surprising, both in their wheelhouse, and the latter has more of a clean, punk-oriented delivery in the vocals that should be explored a little more in Impalers original songwriting.

Stop gap releases can be hit or miss- this one is a hit, and can be had at a bargain if you are unfamiliar to the band’s style.
