DEAD EARTH POLITICS – Men Become Gods EP

DEAD EARTH POLITICS – Men Become Gods EP

10 years going, Austin Texas’ Dead Earth Politics establish an interesting mixture of power thrash and groove metal on their latest EP "Men Become Gods". At 4 songs and 18 minutes, a lot of the twin guitar elements possess this Iced Earth meets Iron Maiden marching template- while some of the rhythmic grooves and vocals can be leaning towards the modern Lamb of God or Testament slant. The straightforward uppity riffing and tempos for "Casting Stones" contrasts with the stop/ start gallop and power parts for "Ice & Fire", Ven Scott channeling a lot of Chuck Billy and Matt Barlow charm in the latter.

Dead Earth Politics have all the songwriting skill and playing ability to turn heads- now it’s a question of creating stronger hooks to take their sound to the next level for international acclaim. An adequate representation of blending old school harmonies and melodies with new school attack, "Men Become Gods" could gain appeal from a wide cross-section of metal followers.
