SERPENTINE PATH – Emanations

SERPENTINE PATH – Emanations

Serpentine Path debuted back in 2012 with a self titled blast of doom/death that worked out quite well.
Now two years later the follow-up entitled "Emanations" hit the shelved and me for one really dig this one a lot more than the debut.
The pace is taken down a notch but it´s not dragging, it´s tearing and tramping all over your brain with downtuned riffs that you actually have not heard before.
Their brand of metal can ba many things. It´s part doom/death but also a healthty dose of sludge are added to the mix to keep it down and it works out really well.

Personally I really like "Emanations" bu tafter a couple of spins I needed a break. The album is keeping it fresh all the way but it gets kinda monotone after a while. This is not nescessar a bad thing, it´s ok with music that keeps you focus for just a short while as long as the period of time is interessting and "Emanations" is just that.

Serpentine Path is well worth your listening time and "Emanations" is a good enough place to begin.
