NECKBREAK NATION – Stroke of the Devil’s Hour

Active for 4 years, Dutch band Neckbreak Nation unleash their debut album "Stroke of the Devil’s Hour" – a 9 song odyssey into the land of semi-progressive modern groove metalcore. What does this mean for your ears? Lots of breakdowns, a boatload of finger tapping leads, monotonous barking/ scream oriented vocals, and simple chord choices that chug along for ultimate pit maneuvers. By the time "Detest the Faith" and "Stating Equality" hit the speakers, all of my thoughts of a European band trying to perform in a space best left for Killswitch Engage, Trivium, and Unearth come flooding to my brain.
We need less imitators and more originators. Angry, yes – but nothing of substance here.
